PETER GALES PHOTOGRAPHY
Roger Gales’ father, Peter Gales, worked as a Navy photographer in World War II, stationed in the South Pacific. He documented the devastation of Hiroshima, Japan, shortly after its destruction. He attended and graduated from Art Center School of Design after the war and, following that, was hired as a staff photographer for Kodak, working there for decades until his retirement in the 80’s. One of his contributions while working for Kodak was taking “the world’s largest photographs” in the Colorama format.
When he passed away in 2009, he left his three sons with tens of thousands of print photographs. His subjects included, among many other things, exotic travel locations, sailing photos, his family, and of course, Kodak advertising photos. His photos leave a beautiful legacy of his artistic talent. Following are a sampling of his wonderful photos, broken up into categories, for everyone to enjoy.
